Caterina is an experienced Information Technology executive who has managed large global IT organizations with a total budget of $40 million. She is strategic, qualified, innovative and collaborative. Caterina is an exceptional IT leader with over 20 years of experience in technology. Before moving to the Information Technology field, Caterina worked as a researcher at the European Center for Nuclear Physics.
Caterinaspent many years as anIT consultant for the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. She subsequently moved to the Washington, DC area where she held the position ofIT Director and CIO at the Pan American Health Organization, the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology and the National Parks Conservation Association.
Caterina successfully develops, executes and manages strategic plans, IT operations, application development, budget and projects.She has workedsuccessfully in medium and large national and international, multicultural environments. These organizations had complex leadership and internal structures which has qualified her to work in many and varied organizations. One of her many strengths is the ability to analyze business processes and requirements and then match them to the best technology solution available on the market, or provide specific advice on developing a new, custom, solution.
Caterina is an influential voice in the IT non-profit community on a number of subjects. She has excellent communication and presentation skills, and she is an accomplished public speaker. She is continuously invited to speak atinternational conferences (Novell Brainshare, TeamApproach User Conference). Additionally sheparticipatesin the International Computing Center Advisory Board and the Novell Cool Solutions Advisory Board. She also co-authored several technology publications.
Caterina holds a PhD in Particle Physics from the University La Sapienza, Rome, and graduated from the “Pocket MBA for Chief Information Officers” program of the Boston University.
Caterina is fluent in the following languages: English, Italian (her mother tongue), French and Spanish.
While not related to her work, Caterina is also a certified Sommelier by the Italian Sommelier Association and an official wine taster.
