                Loan Accounting/General Ledger Conversion  Rescue - Tasked by the CEO of a large regional  agricultural lender to recover their organization from a totally failed loan  accounting system conversion and to manage their organization through the  selection and implementation of a capable and effective system.
 
                  Evaluated  candidate systems, guided client through the selection and due diligence  processes, managed the conversion and testing to a successful conversion in 12  months
 
Educated  the CEO and the Board of Directors in their responsibilities for effective IT  Governance, demonstrated how weaknesses in this area contributed to the flawed  decisions leading to the failed system conversions, and helped the Board  implement sound IT Governance procedures and processes
 
With the  CEO and Board's approval, reorganized the IT reporting structure to provide  direct reporting to the Board's IT Steering Committee
 
Implemented  IT control processes that allowed the organization to pass its first IT Process  Audit by their Federal Regulator with no material findings.
 
 Appointed  a Special Examiner by the California Department of Insurance and regularly tasked with testing and  evaluating IT controls in various regulated insurance companies doing business  in the state.
 
Performed an IT Risk Assessment for thirty-two Executive  Branch agencies for the State of Maine under the auspices of the Office of Program  Effectiveness and government Accountability
 
                  Held  executive-level interviews with agency IT managers and reviewed IT  documentation, practices and procedures
 
Presented  preliminary report to the State's CIO and IT Executive Staff in a closed-door  briefing
 
Presented  final report to the Legislative Committee governing IT, in part in Executive  Session, due to the sensitive nature of some of the information security  findings
